How Rafa can save the game
Nadal indicated he was willing to risk his supremacy on clay in order to improve his results on quicker surfaces. "Sometimes, not always, it's a risk," he said of the trade-off. "But to be better you need to risk."

Nadal in for his chop or two

A-Rod's struggle brings smile to Federer supporters
を自分で処置したため・・・大変なことになっちゃた模様):"It started off as a blister, but I punctured it, and it came back and on the third time I got a blister underneath the blister, and that was really tough to get out. Then in Sydney, I cut it up a little bit, then I made like big circles, and they got a lot of pus out, but it was very infected,"

ALL EYES ON COURT 21

Does maturity make a good player great?(フェデラー物語)
*1995年(@16-and-under world youth cup):
There was some kid from Chile beating the life out of forehands that left dents in the back fence (Fernando Gonzalez) and another from Peru who looked 25 and sported chest hair that would have made Austin Powers purr with admiration (Luis Horna).
Both guys(フェデラー&ヒューイット) were setting new records for racquet bouncing, arguing, smashing balls and just straight out whingeing. Roger would even swear in English and I could assume only that he wanted Peter to have no misunderstandings about his frustrations.
*(Peter Carterの死)
*(MCヒューストン2003): Just before Roger stepped on the court to play his first match against Andre Agassi, he was pulled aside by a gentleman with a vested interest in the tournament and given a verbal dressing-down. It shocked Roger and it was obvious to all that he was clearly shaken. Roger had apparently made some negative remarks about the event in Houston to which the gentleman took personal offence. He was probably within his right, but the timing was extremely questionable.
Minutes after the match, disappointed and soaked in sweat, Andre(アガシ) muttered these words with his head down in the locker-room: "This kid is a genius. He's going to change our game."

Marat Safin, Jan 14, 2007(サフィンインタビュー,14日)
今年の目標: "First of all, it's to stay healthy. Second of all, if I'm healthy, try to make this as close as I can to the top 10 or maybe even break into top 10. Why not? That's the only thing I really want to do this year."

Roger Federer, Jan 14, ,2007 (フェデラーインタビュー)
I don't think it's changed much, if anything.(サーフェスが早くなったと言われているようだが、別に変わってない)

Q. Do you have an idea of someone who can be a surprise this year or do you think the old guard like Safin or Roddick is coming back?
ROGER FEDERER: I think this year we'll see more of the younger generation, you know, like Murray and Djokovic. I think we'll see more of them this year. I was a bit skeptical of them, you know, like a year ago still because they had very bad Grand Slam results, they didn't really get that far like everybody was talking about. I think this year will be better for them. I definitely see that coming.
I don't find it's a tournament of surprise, no. Grand Slams are usually not very much the case because it's five sets every time. Not allowed to have any mental or physical lapses. You know, experience pays in such tournaments, knowing how to handle a Grand Slam. That you only start to know once you've been through to a semifinals or a finals.
But there's always a chance. I don't think the Australian Open is more of a chance than the other Grand Slams.

Q. After the Masters Cup, Rafael Nadal talked about working very hard, changing things with his game, maybe his serve, becoming more aggressive. Are you expecting to notice anything significantly different about how Rafa is going to play?
ROGER FEDERER: Well, I mean, I think in the next few years, we'll see him adjusting his game because of maybe the physical strain to his body and everything. You know, he's young. He's still got time to really work on his game, try to come in more, try to improve his slice, try to improve his backhand. I have no clue. He's got plenty of things to work with. The only question is, Is that going to make him have more success? Because in the end, it's your base that's going to make you win most of the matches, you know. *
So it's going to be interesting to see. I'm looking forward to playing him again, seeing if he's changed anything. I haven't seen him at all, so I can't really comment on that. Can see after this tournament.
